Tourmaline Labs, Inc. acquired telematics software company Zenhavior Inc.

The company is developing new products in contextual analytics.

SAN DIEGO, CA - On December 12, 2014 San Diego, California based company Tourmaline Labs, Inc. announced the acquisition of Zenhavior Inc. from earlier this year.

Zenhavior Inc. developed accurate telematics software for smartphones and founder Dr. Lukas Kuhn accepted to become CTO of Tourmaline Labs, Inc.

CEO and president of Tourmaline Labs, Inc. Sven Beerweiler said: “The acquisition will bring forth an array of software technology which will change how location and data is collected and handled by smart phones and apps as we know it today“.

The technology is a scalable and reconfigurable platform that facilitates monitoring of behavior through low-power mobile sensing. With negligible impact on battery life, the platform automatically detects driving and catalogs any sequence of trips.

“The driving behavior tool we created was only the first step. We are looking forward to work together with such a forward thinking and passionate firm like Tourmaline Labs, Inc. and roll out new products across different industries in the coming months” said Dr. Lukas Kuhn founder of Zenhavior Inc.

Tourmaline Labs, Inc. will continue to offer products of Zenhavior Inc. and will extend its partnerships with mobile phone manufacturers, carriers and software development companies in the US, Europe, and Asia to provide its technology to smartphone users. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been released.
